A 35-year old Ghanaian man  identify as Kwaku Kandarira has been arrested for killing his younger brother over a dog meat argument. The victim 30-year old Attah Azimma was shot dead at apapaase, near Assam, in the Shanti region. Operatives of the Kano police command have arrested one Alhaji Salisu Idris for setting  fire that wiped out a family of three in Garaya village, on ungogo Local Government Area of the State.  The midnight fire  incident that occurred in the home of 50-year-old Alhaji Aminu Bala on the 25th September, 2019 killed him, his wife, Hajia Rugayya Bala and their two- year-old daughter, Aisha Bala. The victims where trapped in the burning building which was locked from outside with a padlock before it was set ablaze by the arsonist. High court 3 in Gusau, Zamfara state on Thursday sentenced one Ibrahim Hamida of Gobirawa village in Tsafe Local Government Area of the State and his son, Ashiru Ibrahim, to death, for culpable homicide Punch Metro reports. The two convicts, according to presiding judge, justice Muktari Yusha where first arraigned before the court in 2018 on two counts of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide punishable under section 221 of the penal code. The judge ruled both the father and son his were found guilty of the charges levelled against them and sentenced to death. Yusha said, "They are sentenced to death  hanging until they are confirmed dead." The two victims had stabbed one Rabi'u Tudu of the same village with a knife in dispute which resulted in his death.

Vice-president  Yemi Osinbanjo says the national economic council will have to send request through  the president to get a briefing from the newly inaugurated economic advisory council (EAC). Osinbanjo make this statement on Thursday a response to a request for  clarification by members of national economic council regarding their relationship with the newly appointed council. A statement by Laolu Akande, Osinbanjo's senior special assistant on media and publicity, quoted  the vice president as saying both councils are for the benefit of the president. Dangote Tomato plant in Kano has been shut down again, six months after it resumed operations from an almost three -years shut down. Reports said the 1,200-ton-a-day tomato- processing factory closed down because it was unable to get its required feed stock from farmers, who switched  to other crops at the beginning of the  rainy season  in may. The plant was idle for more than two years until March this year over a supply disruption partly caused by a price dispute by farmers. Even after the disagreement was resolved, the factory was unable to ramp up production beyond 20% of its capacity  due to inadequate supply of tomatoes, as most of the farmers lack the  needed credit to expand production. The company is losing at least 30 million naira every month with employees idle, according to the managing director of Dangote farms, Abdulkareem Kaita. Singer, Nazir  Ahmad, popular known as Sarkin Wakan Kano,  has been arrested for allegedly releasing  of two uncensored  musical albums and operating an illegal studio. The albums, which were released  about three years ago, were said to have violated some provisions of the state censorship board laws.
