For the second time, the U.S  Town of Hempstead, on Tuesday, honoured Nigeria by hosting the nation's flag in  commemoration of its  59th  independence anniversary. The flag- raising ceremony, held at the premises of the Hempstead Town  Hall,  was organised by the city council in collaboration with the Nigerian community. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that it followed the first one held  on 1 October, 2018  at the same revenue. In attendance were members of  the Nigerian community and officials of the Nigerian consulate in New York led by the Consul General (CG), Mr  Benaoyagha Okeyen. Enugu 一 A South African returnee has been arrested by the police in Enugu state for alleged involvement in an armed robbery. The suspect,  Kingsley Okonkwo, from Agbogugu, Awgu LGA, Enugu state, was among 15 suspects paraded at the headquarters of state police command on Tuesday. Briefing  journalists on the latest breakthrough of the command, the state commissioner of police, an Ahmad Abdur-Rahman said their arrested 15 suspected criminals and made some recoveries. According to the police boss, the items recovered were four arms, four cartridges, 13 headsets,  one tricycle, three  motor vehicles, and an English words. Alua Asetkyzy Abzalbek had gone to bed listening to music in Kazakhstan  A schoolgirl  died after her charging smartphone exploded on her pillow while  she slept. Alue Asetkyzy Abzalbek, 14, went to bed listening to music at her village home in Bastobe, Kazakhstan. The next morning she was found dead with the phone's battery  having exploded close to her head.             Alua with best friend  Ayazhan Dolasheva  Her device had been plugged into a power  socket,  police said. She is believed to have suffered severe head injuries  and died immediately. When devastated relatives called paramedics they could only comfirm the fact of her death. Operatives of the Kano police command have arrested one Alhaji Salisu Idris for setting  fire that wiped out a family of three in Garaya village, on ungogo Local Government Area of the State.  The midnight fire  incident that occurred in the home of 50-year-old Alhaji Aminu Bala on the 25th September, 2019 killed him, his wife, Hajia Rugayya Bala and their two- year-old daughter, Aisha Bala. The victims where trapped in the burning building which was locked from outside with a padlock before it was set ablaze by the arsonist. Younger brother of the deceased,  who spoke to  reporters in the village at the tragedy, explained that when they rushed to the scene of the fire, they noticed that the burning house was padlocked with a big key. He further alleged that they saw a man climbing over the wall of the compound has he fled the scene. High court 3 in Gusau, Zamfara state on Thursday sentenced one Ibrahim Hamida of Gobirawa village in Tsafe Local Government Area of the State and his son, Ashiru Ibrahim, to death, for culpable homicide Punch Metro reports. The two convicts, according to presiding judge, justice Muktari Yusha where first arraigned before the court in 2018 on two counts of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide punishable under section 221 of the penal code. The judge ruled both the father and son his were found guilty of the charges levelled against them and sentenced to death. Yusha said, "They are sentenced to death  hanging until they are confirmed dead." The two victims had stabbed one Rabi'u Tudu of the same village with a knife in dispute which resulted in his death.
